I’m keeping an excited eye on the newly-founded Collaborative Knowledge Foundation, which aims to build open source solutions in scholarly knowledge production that foster collaboration, integrity and speed.

Interesting thoughts on how universities can build services for researchers in the post “Openness, Integrity, & Supporting Researchers” on the University of Cambridge’s scholarly communication blog.

In honor of Open Access Week, I shared the story of how I became an openness advocate on The Winnower.

This article on Retraction Watch is not only interesting, but it starts to scratch the surface of the complexity between publishers, the public, media,  public funding, and popular perceptions of the science.

Kristin Briney Data Services Librarian of UW-Milwaukee, wrote a paper about data ownership that talks about institutional data policies and data services as well. Her blog post gives an overview of what prompted the research (link to paper within).

Finally, two little things : BIO updated their “Biological Sciences Guidance on Data Management Plans”. And Brill and DANS have launched  the Research Data Journal for the Humanities and Social Sciences.
