Departments and offices across UW-Madison are rapidly responding to the COVID-19 crisis by shifting services to online platforms. UW-Madison’s Libraries and the Department of Information Technology have both been central to these efforts by providing a wealth of resources for students, faculty, researchers, and staff as they transition to teaching, learning, and working remotely. Below are some of the security measures, tools, and suggestions you can use to help you adjust to these new circumstances.
Security

Libraries
UW-Madison Libraries have created a dashboard at the top of their homepage you can use to connect with resources, contact librarians, and access their remote services.

Working Remotely
DoIT has assembled this guide for using Technology for Working Remotely that can help get you started accessing campus tools for working from home. Here you will find:
- Instructions on how to set up WiscVPN and install antivirus software
- Guidelines for teaching online and maintaining Instructional Continuity
- Instructions for accessing communication tools like email, calendar, and forwarding your campus phone to other numbers
